A business network in a commercial center carries more than most owners realize: point-of-sale, cameras, wireless, phones, and connected equipment all share the same infrastructure. We design with that in mind, separating traffic so a guest device cannot reach the systems the business runs on, sizing switches for what is actually connected, and documenting the addressing so a problem can be found rather than guessed at. Growth is planned for, because these buildings rarely stay the same shape.

Conditions in Rapid City

Rapid City covers a lot of ground for its population, and the commercial building stock runs from downtown brick to newer construction out toward the interstate. That range matters, because a cable pathway that is straightforward in a 2015 office building is a genuine problem in a downtown block with plaster walls and no accessible ceiling. Wind is a constant consideration for anything mounted outdoors, and the temperature swing across a year is wide enough to matter for equipment that lives in an unconditioned space. We plan around the specific building rather than around a standard approach.

Rapid City is our home base and the commercial hub of the Black Hills. We work here across offices, medical and dental practices, schools, churches, retail, and manufacturing, designing surveillance, networking, WiFi, and AV systems for organizations that need them to simply work. Residential home theater and whole-home audio round out the work in the neighborhoods around the city.
