Managed IT
MICROSOFT 365, RUN RIGHT.
Almost every business runs on Microsoft 365 — email, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office. Most of them are running it on the default settings, which means it is neither as secure nor as organized as it should be. We administer Microsoft 365 for businesses across Rapid City and the Black Hills so it works the way it is supposed to and does not become a security liability.
Microsoft 365 is powerful and genuinely complicated. Licensing, user accounts, security policies, mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint, and device management all live in different admin centers with hundreds of settings. We handle all of it — the day-to-day user changes and the security configuration underneath that most businesses never touch.
Whether you are moving to Microsoft 365 for the first time, cleaning up a tenant that grew without a plan, or just tired of doing user setup yourself, we take it off your plate.
User Onboarding & Offboarding
When you hire someone, we create their account, assign the right license, set up their mailbox, add them to the correct Teams and SharePoint sites, and enforce your security settings — so a new employee is ready to work on day one with the access they need and nothing they do not.
When someone leaves, offboarding done wrong is a real risk: a former employee whose account still works, or whose files vanish with them. We disable access immediately, preserve their mailbox and files for whoever takes over, convert the account so email keeps flowing, and reclaim the license so you stop paying for it.
Security, MFA & Conditional Access
The single biggest thing most businesses can do to protect themselves is turn on multi-factor authentication properly and lock down how accounts can be accessed. We enforce MFA across your organization and set Conditional Access policies — rules that decide who can sign in, from where, and on what devices.
That means a stolen password alone is not enough to get into your email, and sign-ins from unexpected countries or unmanaged devices get blocked or challenged. These are the settings that stop the account-takeover and invoice-fraud attacks that hit small businesses hardest, and they are exactly the settings default tenants leave wide open.
Microsoft Entra ID & Identity
Entra ID, formerly Azure AD, is the identity system underneath Microsoft 365 — it is what every user account, login, and permission actually runs on. We manage it as the foundation: a clean user and group structure, security groups that map to how your business is organized, and single sign-on to other apps where it makes sense so your staff have fewer passwords to lose.
Intune & Device Enrollment
Microsoft Intune lets us manage the computers and phones that connect to your Microsoft 365 — from anywhere, without touching the device. We enroll your machines, push security settings and software, require encryption and screen locks, and keep company data contained. If a laptop is lost or stolen, we can wipe the company data off it remotely.
For businesses with staff on the road or working from multiple sites, Intune is how you keep a consistent, secure setup without chasing every device by hand.
Exchange Online, Teams & SharePoint
We manage the parts of Microsoft 365 your team actually lives in every day. Exchange Online: mailboxes, shared mailboxes for departments like sales or billing, distribution lists, and mail flow and spam filtering that keeps junk and phishing out. Teams: setup, guest access, and the policies that keep it organized instead of chaotic. SharePoint and OneDrive: file structure, sharing permissions, and making sure the right people can reach the right documents and no one else.
Shared mailboxes and proper permissions sound small, but they are the difference between a company where information is where people expect it and one where everyone emails asking who has the file for a given account twice a day.
Licensing
Microsoft licensing is confusing on purpose, and most businesses are either overpaying for licenses they do not use or missing security features they are already entitled to. We review what you have, match licenses to what each person actually needs, and make sure you are getting the security tools included in the plans you already pay for.
HOW WE APPROACH THIS
We start by reviewing your existing Microsoft 365 tenant — how it is licensed, how secure it is, and where the gaps are. Most tenants we look at have MFA half-enabled, old accounts still active, and security features paid for but switched off. We fix the foundation first: identity, security, and licensing. Then we take over the ongoing work — onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day changes — so you stop doing it yourself and stop worrying about whether it is done right.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Microsoft 365 Management — FAQ
What is the difference between Office 365 and Microsoft 365?
+
They are largely the same family — Microsoft renamed Office 365 to Microsoft 365 and added device management and security features. Either way, we manage it: the email, apps, Teams, and the security and identity settings underneath.
Do you help with Microsoft 365 security?
+
Yes — it is the most important part. We enforce multi-factor authentication, set Conditional Access rules, clean up old accounts, and turn on the security features most tenants leave off. These are the settings that stop account-takeover and email-fraud attacks.
Can you handle user setup when we hire someone?
+
Yes. We create the account, assign the license, set up the mailbox, add them to the right Teams and SharePoint sites, and apply your security policies — so a new hire is ready to work on day one.
What happens to a former employee’s email and files?
+
We disable their access immediately, preserve their mailbox and files for whoever takes over, keep their email flowing to the right person, and free up the license so you stop paying for it. Offboarding done wrong leaves an active account a former employee can still use — we close that gap.
Are we paying for the right Microsoft licenses?
+
Often not. Most businesses either overpay for unused licenses or miss security features they are already entitled to. We review what you have and match it to what your team actually needs.
Can you manage Microsoft Teams and SharePoint?
+
Yes. We set up and manage Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive — the file structure, sharing permissions, and policies that keep everything organized and reachable by the right people.
