About Brink Design

The local team behind systems that work.

Brink Design designs, installs, documents, and supports complete technology systems for businesses, general contractors and custom builders, churches, schools, government, healthcare, and manufacturing across the Black Hills and the surrounding region.

Our story

Built on commercial work, close to home.

Brink Design started in 2023 in Rapid City, South Dakota. From the beginning the work has been commercial, institutional, and government: surveillance and access control for facilities, enterprise networks and WiFi, structured cabling for new construction, and integrated audio and video for churches, classrooms, and conference rooms.

The through-line is simple. Every project is a complete system, designed, installed, documented, and supported by one local team. We are not a reseller moving boxes. We plan the infrastructure, pull the cable, configure the platform, label the rack, and stay on as the people who know how it was built.

We work across western South Dakota, northeast Wyoming, and the Nebraska Panhandle. Being local means we answer the phone, know the buildings, and show up when a system needs attention. General contractors and custom builders bring us in early so the low voltage infrastructure is designed into the project, not forced in at the end.

We give straight answers about what a project needs and what it does not. The goal is that anyone researching a technology solution leaves confident they found the local expert they can trust.

How we work

Four steps, one team, start to finish.

01

Survey

We walk the site, review drawings, and understand how the space is used before specifying anything. Requirements first, hardware second.

02

Design

We engineer the complete system on paper: coverage, capacity, cable pathways, rack layout, and the right platform for the job. You see the plan before work begins.

03

Install

Structured cabling, mounting, terminations, and configuration done clean and to standard. Labeled, tested, and neat in the rack and behind the wall.

04

Commission and support

We tune every system, document how it was built, and hand over the details. Then we stay on as the team that knows the system, with support when you need it.

What sets us apart

The standards we hold on every project.

Complete systems, not products

We design, install, document, and support the whole system. One team owns the outcome from the first site walk to long-term support, so nothing falls between vendors.

Documentation and technical accuracy

Racks are labeled, networks are mapped, and every project is documented so the people who use the system understand it. Accurate work that is easy to service later.

Local and responsive

Based in Rapid City and serving the Black Hills, northeast Wyoming, and the Nebraska Panhandle. We know the buildings, answer the phone, and provide support when you need it.

The right platform for the job

We specify proven platforms like Ubiquiti UniFi, Q-SYS, and Aiphone based on what the project actually requires, not on a single brand relationship. Engineering over sales.
