On new construction, access control belongs in the plan set. Door position, hardware type, and cable pathway all have to agree, and that is a conversation to have with the builder rather than a discovery to make afterward. We review openings during design, coordinate the rough-in, and commission the system once the building is closed. Retrofitting a controlled door into a finished frame is possible, but it is never as clean as doing it during the build.

Summerset is among the faster-growing communities in the area, and nearly everything we touch here is recent construction. That timing is the whole opportunity, since running cable during framing costs a fraction of adding it later. Buildings sit on relatively open ground, so exterior equipment faces wind directly. Because the community is still expanding, we plan capacity past the current requirement rather than exactly to it.
