Homes built in this part of west Rapid City through the 2000s and early 2010s often went in with in-ceiling speakers in every main room, home-run speaker wire, keypads, a dedicated equipment closet, and a dealer-programmed control system. That infrastructure was the expensive part, and it is still good. Copper in the wall does not go obsolete.
The electronics attached to it are a different story. Control processors from that era are out of software support, touch panels are discontinued, phone apps stopped keeping up years ago, and the network gear underneath everything was never designed for the way a household streams today. The result is a home that feels less capable than it actually is.
Our approach is to treat the home as one system. We walk the house, open the equipment closet, test what is still alive, and map what the wiring supports. Then you get a specific keep-and-replace plan: a modern network first, current control and audio on your existing speakers and wiring second, and the conveniences like cameras and a video doorbell layered on last.
