South Canyon Baptist Church Sanctuary Lighting Upgrade

A modern architectural dimming system replacing obsolete dimmer packs in a Rapid City sanctuary.

Rapid City

South Canyon Baptist Church in Rapid City was running its sanctuary on dimmer packs that had reached the end of their useful life. Aging dimming hardware becomes a weekly liability for a worship space: scenes drift, control gets unreliable, and replacement parts grow scarce. The church needed lighting infrastructure it could count on for services and live productions, without rebuilding the whole room around it. Brink Design designed and installed a modern architectural dimming system to replace the obsolete equipment.

The situation

The existing dimmer packs predated the way the sanctuary is used today. Worship services and live productions both depend on lighting that behaves the same way every time, and the old hardware could no longer deliver that consistency. The goal was a reliable, current dimming platform that the church's own volunteers could operate.

What we designed and installed

We replaced the obsolete dimmer packs with a modern architectural dimming system sized to the sanctuary. The new infrastructure gives the room dependable, repeatable control over its lighting, engineered around how the space is actually used week to week. We documented the system so it is understood and serviceable rather than a mystery behind the wall.

What it does day to day

Services and productions now run on lighting that behaves consistently every time. Scenes are dependable, control is straightforward for the volunteers who run the room, and the underlying hardware is current rather than obsolete. The sanctuary has infrastructure it can build on rather than work around.
